Didgeridoo 'helps sleep problems'
Daily playing of a didgeridoo can help alleviate sleep problems, a study says.
Swiss researchers found using the didgeridoos for 25 minutes a day helped people with sleep apnoea, the British Medical Journal reported.
The disorder causes the throat to close and breathing to stop, waking the patient, but the sessions helped by strengthening the airways.
To add to the list of benefits of playing didgeridoo, an article published in the British Medical Journal describes a study which assessed the effect of didgeridoo playing on those with moderate obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome.
The article concluded that "Regular didgeridoo playing is an effective treatment alternative well accepted by patients with moderate obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome." Read the full article here.

Singing for Health and Happiness
Hardly surprising to find that singing provides a sense of happiness;
but with all the other benefits it provides we should not pass by any
opportunity to sing! sing! sing! Singing will fight disease; prolong life;
help recovery from stroke and heart attack; helps relieve chronic pain;
improves concentration; relieves stress; helps sleep; builds confidence
and self esteem.
A happiness button? - Researchers at the University of Manchester
have discovered that the sacculus, an organ in the inner ear that is
connected to the part of the brain responsible for registering pleasure,
responds to frequencies commonly found in music. This organ only
responds to low frequency high intensity sounds (which include singing),
and it responds within a few seconds of hearing that kind of sound. This
means you get immediate pleasure when you sing, regardless of what it
sounds like to anyone else.
